Since we have shown previously that MalE-SoxS and MarA are sufficient for the in-vitro transcriptional activation of the zwf , fpr , fumC , micF , nfo , and sodA promoters ( i. e. , additional factors are not required )  , we conducted similar studies with purified Rob protein .
