Deoxycholate specifically interacts with MarR an inducer of marRAB activity , has been shown to bind the repressor MarR , leading to an increase in transcriptional activity of the operon .
Thus induction of marRAB by DEC without inhibition of the repression activity of MarR is expected to be less effective than induction with SAL .
